Review Policy

I am currently open to review requests but I’m being selective in what I accept due to running this blog alongside dealing with medical stuff. If you’d like me to consider your book please contact me at: rathertoofondofbooks@gmail.com. I will consider all requests but reserve the right to refuse a book. I also cannot reply to all emails so if I don’t reply it’s because I’m unable to read and review your book at the present time.

I like to read most genres of book but my favourite genres are: literary fiction, thrillers, crime and mystery, non-fiction and memoirs.

I will consider reviewing other genres but I generally don’t like to read horror, erotica, sci-fi or fantasy novels.

I endeavour to meet all publishing deadlines for books I am sent to review. Please make sure you let me know the release date of your book when you request a review so that I can be sure I will have time to schedule it in. If it is not possible for me to review your book to the deadline I will let you know beforehand how delayed it will be.

I am very happy to consider hosting guest posts, author interviews and giveaways. I am also happy to take part in blog tours.

  1. Hi Hayley. I’d really love to ask you to review one of my books, but I’m not sure whether the genres would be OK for you. I write historical fiction (a Viking trilogy) and I’ve also recently published a book of flash fiction/short stories. Would you consider reviewing either? I have noted that neither of these genres are amongst your favourites.

    • Hi, thanks for commenting. I’m just back from a blogging break and haven’t got my review policy updated as yet. I’m very sorry to say that I can’t really take on reading and reviewing your book at the moment. I’m going through a lot of medical stuff and am trying to keep my blogging commitments to a minimum just now. I hope you understand. If you’re on twitter it might be worth you looking up #bookconnectors as there are a lot of lovely book bloggers on there who you could perhaps email to see if they’d be interested in reviewing your book. All the best with your novel and short stories.

  2. Hi Hayley, hope you are feeling better. I found your name on #bookconnectors a couple of weeks ago and was wondering if you are back to reviewing or not. Thanks, Misha

  3. Glad I checked here, before writing to you about my Mumblers Press book sparked by the story of Lucia Joyce. As someone with MS I totally get when it’s time for a break. Thank you so much for all you do, and take care of yourself!
