Purchased eBooks

The Most Fun We Ever Had by Clare Lombardo

I’ve been wanting to read this book ever since it was first published. I actually got some book tokens for my birthday and had been saving them to buy the hardback but then lockdown happened so I’ve been waiting to treat myself. When I saw the kindle book was on offer for 99p I decided to get it to I can start reading but if I love it (as I think I will) I’ll still buy the hardback. This is a book about family relationships that goes back and forth in time and it just sounds like such a me book! I can’t wait to read this one!

Superior: The Return of Race Science by Angela Saini

In my WWW Wednesdays post this week I wrote that I was making a real effort to read books that would educate me more about racism in the wake of the murder of George Floyd. The lovely Jo from Jo’s Book Blog left a comment about this book, which is currently free on Kindle, so I immediately went and downloaded it. It sounds like such a pertinent book that explores the core of racism. I’m keen to get to this one very soon. I actually think I’m going to change my reading plans for the 20 Books of Summer to include more books like this one. If anyone has any other recommendations like this one please leave them in the comments below.

Miss Austen by Gill Hornby

I’d heard of this book but hadn’t paid a huge amount of attention to what it was about. So when it popped up as a daily deal on Kindle yesterday and I read that it’s a novel about Jane Austen’s sister and the decision she took regarding a lot of private letters I was intrigued enough to want to read it.

Have you acquired any new books this week? I’d love to know what you got. Or have you read any of my new books and recommend I get to any of them sooner rather than later? If you’ve shared a book haul post this week then please feel free to share you link below and I’ll make sure to visit your post! 🙂
