WWW Wednesdays (16 Sep 20)! What are you reading this week?

WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. It’s open for anyone to join in and is a great way to share what you’ve been reading!

Current Reads

I’m still struggling with my reading so am sticking to one ebook and one audiobook at a time. I’m really enjoying both of these books and am hoping they might break me out of this slump I’m in.

In Black and White by Alexandra Wilson

Writers and Lovers by Lily King

Recent Reads

I found Liar to be such an intriguing book and really enjoyed it. It was a book that made me think, I recommend it. Fallen Angel wasn’t a great read, it was predictable and full of stereotypical characters so didn’t really help with my reading slump. Dead to Her was an okay read – I’ve already reviewed it so you can find my full thoughts here.

The Liar by Ayelet Gundar-Goshen

Fallen Angel by Chris Brookmyre

Dead to Her by Sarah Pinborough

What I Might Read Next

I’m still reading by whim and hoping to find a way through this reading slump. These three books are the one that most appeal to me at the moment so I hope I can read them in the coming days.

Summer by Ali Smith

The Stolen Sisters by Louise Jensen

Life in Pieces by Dawn O’Porter

What are you reading at the moment? I’d love to chat about your current read in the comments. If you’ve posted a WWW Wednesdays post please feel free to share your link before and I’ll read your post. 🙂

  1. I’m glad you’re finding a way to enjoy books, Hayley, even though you’ve been in a reading slump. And I know what you mean about books that don’t exactly help you get through a slump. I hope the next lot draws you in more. I’m looking forward to what you think of the Jensen.

  2. I’m glad the one at a time idea is keeping you going at least.
I’ve just finished Elizabeth Eliot’s “Mrs Martell” – didn’t love it as much as I have her other books, unfortunately – Vijay Menon’s “A Brown Man in Russia” – interesting topic, weirdly written – and Gideon Defoe’s “An Atlas of Extinct Countries” – not as good as it might have been. Oh, dear, that’s all a bit meh, isn’t it! I’ve also read the second Nadiya Hussain Amir Sisters novel which had darker themes than I was expecting. I’m going to review the three together when I’ve read them all.
I’m currently reading Angela Thirkell’s “Growing Up” which is the next of her WW2 novels that I’m working my way through and good so far though there’s an early animal death. I’m about to start “Rewilding” by Paul Jepson Cain Blythe which is a NetGalley book published just recently, as I’ve slipped below my 80% level due to recent wins!

  3. I like the look of Writers and Lovers and I know what you mean about reading slumps – they are miserable! I hope you soon find a way to break out of yours.x
