Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality, which is all about sharing the books that you’ve acquired in the past week!
I was very spoilt by my husband this Christmas with not only a stack of fab-sounding books but also a brand new Kindle Oasis. My Kindle was playing up and near impossible to use so I was beyond thrilled to open an Oasis on Christmas day. It really is a fab device and I’m over the moon with it.
Now, on to the books he gave me…
A Guinea Pig Nutcracker
I love guinea pigs and these little books are just fab! They make me smile so much.
Bloody Brilliant Women by Cathy Newman
I was delighted to open this book on Christmas day as it looks like such an interesting read. I’m keen to get to this as soon as I can.
Look What You Made Me Do by Helen Walmsley-Johnson
This looks like a tough read but it’s one that I’m really intrigued to read.
Wham! George and Me by Andrew Ridgeley
I’m so excited to have a copy of this as I’ve been so keen to read it. I’ve already started reading this one and it’s everything I hoped it would be so far!
Sweet Sorrow by David Nicholls
This is a book I’ve looked it a couple of times but never got around to buying so I’m thrilled to finally have a hardback copy. This looks like it’ll be a lovely nostalgic read.
The Confession by Jessie Burton
I’m also excited to get a copy of this book for Christmas as it sounds like such a good read. This won’t be on my TBR for long either.
Pages and Co. #2: Tilly and the Lost Fairy Tales by Anna James
I read the first book in this series earlier this year and adored it so much that I knew I’d want to read more. I was beyond excited to open this on Christmas day and I can’t wait to read it!
The Institute by Stephen King
My lovely mum-in-law gave me and my husband thisbook to share as she thought we both might like it (amongst other lovely gifts).
Is Mediatation Only For Buddhists? by Jack Kornfield
My best friend gave me this book, which sounds fascinating. I regularly meditate but have come so far away from the buddhism that I was very interested in years ago so this book sounds like it’ll be a really good read for me.
So this my Christmas book haul and I’m so delighted at everything I was given.
Did you get any books for Christmas? Or did you treat yourself to any new books? I’d love to know what was in your Christmas book haul. Feel free to leave a link to your own post if you’ve written one. 🙂
I’m currently reading book 1 of Pages and Co. I started reading it to my year 4s but they just aren6t ready for that level yet. Some of the more able children were enjoying it.
It’s such a lovely book, it’s made me want to re-read A Little Princess and Anne of Green Gables so I might do that this year. I hope you enjoy it.
Thank you ❤
I’m jealous 😉 I got not a single book, in keeping with lifelong tradition *sigh*
That’s a shame! I hope you’re able to treat yourself to one or two books soon to make up for it.
That Oasis looks wonderful, Hayley! I know you’ll love using it. And what a great haul of books, too. So many good ‘uns, and all sorts of variety, too. You have some good reading ahead of you.
The Oasis is fab – it’s so much easier for me to hold and the screen is easier on my eyes so I’m delighted with it. I’m excited to read my way through my new books. I started yesterday with the Wham! one and I loved it. 🙂
Enjoy your Oasis! I got mine about a year ago, I think…
I also have a lovely haul that I’ve been building, gifting myself to lots of Amazon packages over the past few months.
I always love checking out your stack. Thanks for sharing.
I will, thank you 🙂 The Oasis is so much easier to hold and I love the different light settings, it’s a lot easier on my eyes. I’m happy you have a lovely haul of books too. 🙂
I got the Oasis, too! I love it. I didn’t know I needed those side buttons, but I did. Now, I’m trying to figure out how to get everything the way I want it on there.
Did you? It’s fab, isn’t it? I love how much easier it is to hold and those side buttons are great. I also love the different light settings as I read a lot in bed so the warm light is easier on my eyes. I’m still re-organising my kindle books too.
Yes! Those side buttons are everything along with the light. It’s so much better than the Paperwhite I had and I swore by that thing.
I got a facsimile edition of The Body in the Library by Agatha Christie, and one of the British Library Crime Classics – a collection of short stories called Continental Crimes
Oh wow, that Agatha Christie edition looks great. I hope you enjoy reading your new books 🙂
Yay for a new Oasis! I almost treated myself too, but it would be too painful to get the books in it, esp the NG ones! And my paperwhite is still working most of the time, haha.
The Oasis is fab, it’s so much easier for me to hold. My old Kindle was pretty much useless – it only held its charge for an hour and it kept switching on and off randomly. I’m so happy to have a new one! It hasn’t been hard to get my NG books on it so I was relieved about that.
Oh a kindle, that is amazing!! And love all of your other book haul too!

Priyanka @ A Booklion’s Hideaway Sorry! I made a mistake with the link!
Thank you 🙂 And thanks for following my blog, I’m going to follow you back.
What a wonderful bunch of books. And the Oasis looks grand!
I’m delighted with my new books and thrilled with the Oasis. I’m excited to read my way through the new year! 🙂
This is a fantastic haul! My husband and I read The Institute together and it was fun to talk about afterwards! Hope you both enjoy it.
Thank you! 🙂 That’s lovely that you both read The Institute together and got to discuss it, I’m looking forward to doing the same with my husband.
Bloody Brilliant Women is good and I had a small part to play in one of your other books, so I hope you enjoy them all. And a new Kindle – hooray!
Thank you 🙂 I’m really looking forward to reading Bloody Brilliant Women, it looks like such a good read. I read the Wham! book yesterday and loved it.
Fantastic haul and congrat on the new kindle! xx
Thank you 🙂 x
