Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality, which is all about sharing the books that you’ve acquired in the past week!

Books I Bought This week

Never Greener by Ruth Jones

I’ve been wanting to read this book ever since it was first published so I’m happy to finally own a copy. I hope to get to read it soon.

The Innocent Man by John Grisham

I’m keen to watch the new Netflix series based on the crime in this book so when I spotted the book in a kindle daily deal this week I snapped it up. Usually when I watch a documentary like this I want to then read the book so I have this on my TBR ready now.

Unspoken by Luke Allnutt

I’m on a trial of Kindle Unlimited at the moment and I saw this short book mentioned on a review of the author’s novel We Own the Sky so downloaded it. I plan on reading this soon.

Books I Received for Review

The Confessions of Frannie Langton by Sara Collins

I keep seeing this book on various blogs so I’m thrilled to have my own copy now. I’m really looking forward to getting to this one, it sounds like my kind of book.

All the Little Lies by Chris Curran

I’ve read and enjoyed Chris Curran’s previous novels so am very happy to have a copy of her new one. This sounds so good and I’m really keen to read it very soon!

East of England by Eamonn Martin Griffin

This sounds a bit different to my normal reads but it’s set in a part of the country that I know quite well so that sold me on it. I’m on the blog tour for this one so I’ll definitely be reading it soon.

Have you bought any new books over the last week? Please tell me below. 🙂 If you join in with Stacking the Shelves please feel free to leave your link and I’ll make sure to read and comment on your post.

  1. Hi Jo, enjoyed your blog, hadn’t heard of The Innocent Man, but will keep my eye out on NetFlix. My YA romantic thriller #RandomAttachment is on kindle unlimited. Two people have read it from there, one in two days, and one in a day which indicates they enjoyed it but neither left a review or stars. I would so appreciate if you could add it to your list. I’m not in a position to afford advertising so am completely reliant on reviews. Have had four so far. 3 5star and 1 4star. I realise my book may not be what you might normally read and is not highbrow however so many authors are doing so well they don’t need a helping hand whereas I am totally reliant on feedback. I have a second book for which I had an agent but it didn’t make the final cut at Penguin, Bloomsbury etc, I have reworked it and will be sending free proofs to those that reviewed RandomAttachment (whether good or bad; would never expect anyone to not be honest). I would be extremely grateful if you could add me to your list. Best wishes. Alison (Gertrude)

  2. The Innocent Man is a really good book. I remember I read it first when it came out sometime in 2007 and was impressed. I liked that it is non-fiction. This is not Grisham forte, but he handled it well (better than his fiction, I would say, because he did not need to sweat about the ending).

  3. You have got some great books there, Hayley. And I see you’ve got some John Grisham among your books! I think he writes excellent books, and I’ll be especially interested in what you think of his work.

  4. Hope you enjoy your new books. I did a trial of Kindle Unlimited and Prime at the same time to see where the better book deals were and definitely liked KU best. But I gave it up a few months ago because I have so many physical copies to read and was getting no where with them.
